Just Puirchased a used CVA Wolf

On the Accura the S/N is under the fore-end. You have to remove the fore-end (one screw) to see it. I'm thinking the wolf be be similar.

    Declining Interest In Inlines?

Thanks for the clarification ENCORE50A, it's what I understood, What I didn't know is that there are (or were) some ML's that could use smokeless. Personally I like the smoke!

    Declining Interest In Inlines?

Thought we couldn't use smokeless in ML's?? Or am I getting confused again? I went to the range with friends last week, one shot white hot pellets, the other had T7 pellets, & Both made lots of smoke  It was fun! I'm really looking forward to getting "tooled up". Still researching atm. I...

    Declining Interest In Inlines?

Since Bass Pro & Cabela's merged there has been quite a lot of inventory juggling. I've noticed (up here in Canada anyway) that the items stocked by each company has changed somewhat. Cabela's also seems to have "continual" sales, sometimes running multiple sales at the same time. I also see...

    Are we going backwards?

Thank You, Yes same here, I had to go to the counter. They often have things listed "on-line" that are not available in my local store. I can of course order on line & get things shipped to the store. Last week the store had the Federal Premiums & another brand (I forget the maker) again my...

    Are we going backwards?

Gentlemen! My Bad! I probably titled my thread incorrectly. I wasn't trying to be a smart a$$ & Obviously we're not "going backwards" but for someone new to ML the information available is overwhelming & in some cases it can appear to be contradictory. Also as I've said finding supplies up here...

    Are we going backwards?

Thanks Guys. I guess I hoped that my comments would perhaps garner some constructive advice & comments..... BTW it was CVA among others who advised that a BH209 Breech Plug was needed to use ANY loose powder.

    Are we going backwards?

I was drawn to ML after seeing a Traditions Kentucky Long Rifle. You know lead ball, cotton patch, powder & a percussion cap, but I saw a modern CVA Accura MR ML & really liked the look of it, but here’s where I have a problem. It appears that with more modern ML’s we have created more problems...

Matching my bullet with its best-fit sabot

I came across this recently, It gave me a better understanding of the ins & outs of Sabots & Bullets. But I guess it will only work if you have access to the various types & sizes (which I don't!) Hope it helps.

    Just Hello!

I'm slowly getting some supplies, I got some Federal Premium 209 Primers, (100 for Cdn$11), it says they are ML Primers. That's all they had so hope they'll work ok. Any comments on those? It may be a while before i get other supplies!

Matching my bullet with its best-fit sabot

I read recently about sizing a rifle barrel ID. Apparently you must use a pure lead "ball" slightly bigger than your actual bore (as has been said earlier) Forcing is down the barrel using a brass rod drift shouldn't cause any barrel damage as the lead is much softer than the steel barrel (&...

    Just Hello!

I know at my local Cabela's I can get 3 or 4 different FF Powders suitable for ML's. Independents don't carry much at all I'm guessing because ML doesn't seem that popular around here. Not sure if I can get actual Blackhorn but I know I need the BH Breech Plug so I can use any loose powder. As...

    Just Hello!

Thank you for your welcomes & RoJo for your comments. I too "research" a lot, the internet is an incredible resource, but one has to be wary of some of the advice out there. I have already done a lot of reading on ML & found a lot of helpful info. So thank you all for that! I've just ordered a...

    Just Hello!

Hi All, new muzzle-loader from BC Canada. Been shooting for a couple of years & enjoy mostly rifle & some pistol. You guys down south a so lucky with the access you have to suppliers & equipment. Much more restricted up here. Anyway I've just taken an interest in muzzle-loading initially ordered...
