Options for short LOP inline ML?

Agree on the Encore, also think Contender. You can find TC .45 and .50 mzldr barrels, also EAB and others have them. Makes for a light, convenient carry rifle.

    Muzzleloader scopes

Leupold seems to have consistent quality. I say get simple duplex reticle, scope in about 2-7 power, about 33mm objective. If you want bigger current version of VX 3 in 3.5 -10 x 40 can be found many places for $299, can't beat that.

    Looking for Info

.45-70 killed buffalo. I've used 70 g Pyrodex in .45 sidehammer and inline for years with good success on deer, 5 to 150 yards.

What’s a decent group size at 100 yards?

If you're using it for hunting, how big is the kill zone be of your game animal? Your 1 1/2 is about 1/4 size of deer kill zone, double the 1 1/2 for field conditions and you are still good. If just shooting for accuracy keep at it, cloverleaf should be achievable.

Do you read in your deestand ?

Put gun/ bow just out of reach, start eating or reading. Most of the time that will entice a nice buck to come by.

    T/C Contender .45 x 209

Back when, I used 2 50g Pyrodex pellets and a 275 great Powerbelt in G2 .45. Good accuracy and great knockdown for deer. I felt like it replicated my prior set up, Cherokee, 80 grains loose Pyrodex and the now extinct Hornady Great Plains 285, for accuracy and impact. Both setups good at...
