Would synthetic motor oil gum up like petroleum based oil?

Finally got a chance to shoot my gun a few times today. Just shot freehand at 25 yards and did good with patched round ball and 70 grains of powder. Wanting to shoot a bunch of patched balls to break my ball in. Will shoot some groups after that.

My rifle has a 1:24 twist. They also come with a peep sight from the factory.

Will my Pedersoli Hawken Hunter stabilize these bullets? Really like hunting with heavy lead bullets and have some of these to try. What do you all think?

People do seem to like it. I might try some if I can't find anything else to group. Got the gun brand new and haven't shot it yet. Just don't seen right shooting sabots out of a Hawken.

What do you use after you clean your muzzleloader? I have been using Bore Butter and haven't had any issues but read bad things about it.

Does anyone here shoot a patched ball from a fast twist barrel? I talking 1:28 and faster. Looking for a hunting load with round ball.

Just ordered me one of these to shoot bullets through. Got some No excuse 460 and 600 grain bullets to try. What would be a good starting load with these? Does anyone here shoot one of these and what load do you use? I don't want to shoot sabots through the gun just lead bullets.
