My buddy says it took him almost 8 months or so. My other buddy just had a knee replacement just a month ago. He seems to be getting around pretty well. In fact, he was able to go fishing yesterday at his club. Everyone is different.

If you're gonna pour the powder into a measure anyway, you can leave the thumb out of the equation. No?

Too bad about your buddy's health issues. I'm sure he knows that you'll use it and take care of it, that's awesome that he holds you as a good friend.

I believe there are many reasons. Predation, weather, deasese. Over hunting. Who's to say what the answer might be and how to turn things around.

Our season started this week. I hunted two mornings and one afternoon. Didn't hear any gobbling or see any birds. The turkey population here in southeast Oklahoma is pretty dismal last couple years. I don't think I'll be going out again this season or not yet.

They were good looking guns for sure. I owned a Traditions Tennessee rifle too. Those were pretty guns, imo.

I bought one years ago, at the Traditions show room in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. It was a display model. Stainless barrel and laminate stock. I believe it cost about $ 170.00 at the time, (1995) or so. I sold it a couple years ago to help finance another purchase.

Those are some giants.

I was out at first light. Very windy and started raining about 8am. No gobbling that I could hear. By 9:30, I was getting wet, so I packed in. Back out this afternoon. Sunny skies finally but still kinda windy. No action today. Try again in the morning.

Anything muzzleloader that can go wrong, will only when you're hunting. Story of my life anyway. 🙃
