    2021 Food Plots

We're in a program with the NRCS that mandates we put in cool season grasses in out cropfields after harvest. These 200 acre food plots make for plenty of sightings 👌

    Bang Flop Boar

It can be hit or miss, I've had 250-300# boar hogs that have fat white as snow that are just as good eating as anything you ever want, I've also take a 50#boar out of the trap and tried to cook him and the smell run me out of the house. Diet, age, body condition all factor into it. IMO less...

Is there a good 200 scope

I'm running a vortex Crossfire 2 on my accura, its cheap, its accurate, its clear, its illuminated, and there simply is not a better warranty out there.

    Gun and ammunition prices

Hopefully ammunition companies won't do like the peanut buyers did in 2012, they jacked up the price of peanut butter, all Mars candy and peanut oil through the roof and blamed farmers because market value on peanuts hit $1000/ton. In truth, only about 3% of the national crop sold at $1000...

    Gun and ammunition prices

Unfortunately, there always has been and always will be people that are willing to take advantage of a bad situation. When the chicken littles of the world quit panic buying every box they can find, the retailers quit charging 3x the common price. I bought a box of hornady superformance 7mm-08...

    Hog Bullets

Not to be arrogant, but I've killed HUNDREDS of pigs at this point with everything from a pocket knife, to a pistol, centerfire, duck loads, muzzleloader, all of it. They're not nearly as bullet proof as most magazines would want you to believe, a deep driving bullet and put it where it needs to be.

    New Savage Impulse

Changi g the subject a little bit, but has anybody heard or seen anything about the 110 timberline? Supposedly they've been available for a little while but I can't find anything as far as first hand experience

    Shed Hunting

I picked up a mice on that came off a buck I've been watching for a few years. Most deer down here won't drop theirs for a while yet, the only reason this one did is because somebody tried to blow his back foot off

    Muzzleloader restrictions by state

Gohunt.com has a really good article I've used several times https://www.gohunt.com/read/skills/muzzleloader-law-breakdown-throughout-the-western-states#gs.obg0a4

    Any love for Powerbelts?

I used to shoot them. If I found the deer, I could almost count on finding the bullet inside the body cavity. My conclusion is that the lead is too soft, and makes more of a pancake than a mushroom. The best analogy i can think of there is like comparing a belly flop to a cannonball. They do...

    New CVA Accura MR

I see some comments about anti seize or grease on the breach plug, I've been using Teflon paste on mine. The Teflon works as good as anything else but it's not nearly as messy

Other than Knight Rifles, who do you recommend for an accurate factory muzzle loader

Fwiw my accura PR shoots patterns, not groups with 250s. Give the 300s a try before you get rid of it. Mine also doesn't shoot worth a poot unless the barrels dirty. But a dirty barrel and 300s boasts exceptional accuracy

    New Mexico

I'm about to head out on a muzzy mule deer hunt in unit 29, I'll be camping from the truck and trying to cover ground on foot. Has anybody ever hunted this unit? If so do you have any general info or things you think I may need to know? Anything you've got would be greatly appreciated.

    HUZZAH!!

I count the split brows so that makes him a 12. Idk about the weight, I dressed him out in the woods but I'm guessing somewhere not too far north of 200.
