a buddy has an early ( no warning ) white mountain carbine he bought new many years ago. he wants $200. I usually dont give that much for a muzzleloader but i don't have one. i think it has a fast twist he shoots sabots. anyone know anything about this early rifle ?
I have an older .40 gm barrel 1:48 twist, 32" long, 15/16" for tc hawken.
Question is: is this a rb twist or a conical twist or both. rb is to light for deer and to heavy for rabbit. would like to try 40 conical maybe like a sharps bullet
i have hunted with the hawken & renegade for nearly 40 years. I have fed the family with them (deer). most shots are bow range. I am partial to the 54 and round ball.
