    Barska barrel boogyman

I've been building shallow groove slow twist UHs and quite comfortable with them. HOWEVER I acquired some "donno what" NOS barrels from Mr. Story, well known gunsmith in Casper Wy. All very nice and mint bores. Looking down the bbl some appear to be fast twist so I need a swiveling handle range...

Super lightweight 50 cal that appears to me to be unfired. 100% overall with small safe dings in Euro Walnut stock. 26" X 7/8 oct bbl and adj sights, The caveat is when the trigger is slowly pulled it returns to half cock position. When pulled firmly it fires with ease? Dunno, looks like it was...

    2nd batch pictures.

If it wasn't in my blood I'd give up on this season. 'Yote prices ( and bobcat) in the tank. Can't even pay for my trappin' beer! 5 Nice badgers ( gave 2 smaller ones away), 14 coyotes, 2 bobcats and one really nice skunk. Wify reminded me the odds are mounting for me to make a slip on skunk...

    I'm losing ground, literally!

Lost two of my best trapping areas due to people from Colo buying them up. One ranch I've trapped on 16 yrs with no problem, now a sister in Boulder Co became part owner and wants no one crossing their strip of land to gain access to the PUBLIC land I've been trapping. The other a man from Colo...

    Win 209 primers

I see the price of Win primers going up a bunch. I'm a past Trap Shooter when younger and still have 1,900 Win 209s. The Thou are in white carton and the 900 are in the old yellow and red W markings. I no longer need these and would entertain offers and I'll check on shipping...

Getting the party started BIG titty-kitty

More lion-bear contacts since the big fires just south of us. A good friend was calling elk west of Ryan Park while he and his son were sitting on a downed timber using the cow calls. mews and chuckles. Hearing something behind him he turned around and this 92# female was crouched facing them...

The LAST pictures of coyote furs this year! I promise

Don't know how these pics got sideways BUT I can't believe there are still a few dogs out there this time of year that are still good! I presume they have been practicing social distancing from the Mangy ones. No matter I use rubber gloves { also known as hand cond--ms) But I took down my...

Bought his gun a few weeks ago and decided I'd do a quick makeover 'till trapping season was over. Still need to wet sand the stock and subdue my torch work then final coat will be applied. Busy week with the prairie wolves

Finally got a few days of thaw on the line. These 5 ( put up and sold last week, avg 75.00) plus the three shown put up and one more yesterday. A few starting to rub little and 6 discarded due to mange. Total body count is 18 processed and 6 left laying. 24 not a bad number considering the...

    Getting the lead out

I've posted this material on another topic, even sold some there, but now putting it where it belongs. This is reclaimed Bell System seam solder. Upon research I find it's 38/72 composition and 13 BHN. That's according to people that use it on other websites, Cast Boolits etc. I can get 18# +/-...

Wire or wood stretchers ? 2 big high country doggies

I was asked what kind of stretchers I prefer, well here they are. Pine, 3/4" X 6' tall, leather hinges and routered and sanded edges. bottom board is drilled every 2" and left long so you can stand on the outboard edge and pull the hide upward when done. Wing nut and bolts on the bottom using...

    Bad weather trapping

I got these fairly in the season, then snow, wind, frozen traps, red lining the 4runner trying to get to most of them. Lions ran me out of the high rocks, no bobcat sign. Might be my first season "skunked" on cats but my overall total is over 80 since my semi-retirement. I'm blessed! Got two...
