The 50 caliber guns are fast twist made for sabots and conicals the older 45 and 58s were the slow twist for round balls The newer 50s 1-28 twist

The only advice I can give is if it’s a slip in breech plug be careful if you have a missfire.Make sure you hold it pointed away from yourself when you recap

The .45 and .58 are the old Huntsman with a slow twist barrel they may not shoot heavier bullets well.The .50 Sidekick and Huntsman are newer with a faster twist.Rumor was when they making the newer .50s that H&R was going to make a .45.I don’t think any were ever made.
