I picked up a used MGM 50 caliber ML barrel for my Pro Hunter. The breech plug is fully threaded unlike the half twist Pro Hunter barrels. Does anyone know if they use a TC encore breech plug? I shot them an email but have not received an answer.

I just picked up a C. Sharps Arms 45-70 at an estate sale. It is a beautiful rifle but I have zero experience with black powder cartridges. Can you use BP substitute powder like Blackhorn 209? I reload center fire rifle cartridges so I plan on loading my own. Any info will be helpful. :?:
