209 adapter 12 gauge

Got out this morning and got a couple! Using a 209 adapter in an old 12 guage, 60 grains Shuetzen and about an ounce #4 shot. Works well, low recoil.

The adapters are probably the most reasonable option for a muzzle loading shotgun. I use single shots as well, but might add another adapter for 12 so I can use an old Stevens double barrel I have.

Just ordered a 12ga adapter and bought a $100 single shot pawn shop special.

Can you share what you are using for wads, etc?

I split a nitro card and use for an undershot and overshot card. A fiber wad.

I have used wadded up wax paper as an undershot card and overshot card with no wad.

You can also use corn meal instead of a fiber wad.

I am sure there are better ways to get the best pattern. Capandball on YouTube recently did an excellent video on shotgun patterning.

Still at it, couple weeks left. Bought another adapter and loaded the double with 80 grains Scheutzen 2f, full ounce of #4 shot. Got one, not seeing many this time of year.
