Not posting this to claim to be a good shot or anything like that, only to show the difference in energy between the two rounds.
It was windy yesterday and it took a few shots to get on the plate. I had four reloads left from the guy I bought the rifle from, four of my reloads left, and one 10 round box of Barrett factory ammo. I think they were the 452 grain MTAC’s. My reloads are the Lehigh Defense 416 grain match solids.
The plate is 14” X 17” X 1/2” thick and was placed at 570 yards. It is not AR plate.
Aren’t the .308 strikes cute?😂. I was amazed at how large the holes are from the Barrett.
The bullet hole by my thumb appears to have had two bullets go through it. A copper jacketed one, and a brass one, and also the bottom left corner, looks like it had a figure eight. I think all the hits on the bottom left, were the factory ammo.

That Barrett would make a nice Antelope gun.

Years ago I shot a .416 Rigby double. Once. My .458 Mod 70 Winnie doesn't kick as bad as the Rigby but neither had a brake....I'll assume your .416 has a brake, eh?

Yes it does. I would never survive 10+ shots without one. It's a Barrett M99. Identical to this picture. Different scope though. It's a blast to shoot ;-)

Yes, that is amazing. Love that power. Thanks for sharing. Nice tool to have if they come for your guns - give'm the ammo first!

I've tried the best to make my big Boomer look like a deer rifle doesn't it? it's a 338 norma,, I think it looks harmless

Good stuff. Poking holes in heavy metal at distance is fun. Not comparable but I poked a hole in some metal with a 300 ultra mag when a buddy swore it wouldn't go all the way thru. He paid on his lost bet
