I know every MLer is different and that you need to test loads but IF you're using triple7 fff in your 50 cal can you PM me with your best target and hunting loads with round ball?

I'm using Triple 7, 2f in my CVA Optima pistol. 80 grains by volume.
I've shot several different bullets, including round balls. The most accurate has been the Hornady 240 grain XTPs.
With 3f, you could try 60 to 70 grains with whatever bullets you have on hand to see how they do.

I have an Investarms with a .50 Green Mountain replacement barrel. 1/66 twist and 33" long barrel. It is not fussy about loads. I use pure lead round balls as well as those made of wheel weights. The balls are .495 with .015 patches prelubed with precision lube 2000 plus. 50-59 caliber patches. With T7 as long as I shoot between 80-100 grains (v) powder it will shoot excellent groups. Killed 2 deer a year for 30 years with that load. Different powders were used over the years with the same result.
