Good morning I have a Knight MK85 .54cal 1in28 inch twist what is max bullet length I can shoot in a .500 cal and .451 -

2 bore diameters are no problem in my 54 or my 50 (1:28)

About 1" length. The old Barnes 325s would shoot but i had to shoot them pretty fast for the best groups. Those bullets are just under an inch long. Best bullet ive found is the Speer 50 325gr JHP. Excellent bullet for the 54cal 1-28. I never had as much luck getting the Barnes 45 300gr Expander MZ to shoot good in any 1-28 but shoots fine in a 1-24. That bullet is just over an inch long.

what about with .452 lead bullets? Same deal about an inch in length and are cast bullets usually shorter in length per same weight as there jacketed counterparts
