Saturday my wife and I went up to Gladwin Michigan to The Back 40 Taxidermy studio to pick up my buck and a very cool crow mount I had done. The buck isn’t huge by any means but it was the last one I was able to get off my uncle’s property before it was sold. I’ve hunted that piece of land since 1996 and have take countless deer. I’ve also taken many coyotes and some turkeys there. I will truly miss that piece of land. The crow, now that’s an idea I had for a European mount. I have never seen a mount done like this I just had an idea in my mind what I wanted and my taxidermist made it happen. I recommend this taxidermist to anyone. They are veteran owned and do award winning mounts.

Your wife, nice. How about your daughter?????
Also I forgot to mention, we stopped at Jays in Clare and got my daughter a cool little youth bow for her up coming birthday. She will be 6 next month and wanted a new bow and camo just like daddy. When I get home from work we watch hunting movies and she falls asleep on me a couple nights a week.

This was Christmas Day, my daughter got her first bow, yes it was a toy but I had to know if she would like it. Of course I had to take her hunting and she just had to try and shoot one of our chickens. A couple days later I caught her trying to shoot them inside their run so we had to have a talk about fair chase haha

Beautiful mounts! Yes, I have lost a few hunting properties also. Mostly due to the landowner passing.
That’s exactly what happened. My uncle passed and the land was sold. It was hard to go pull my stands.

You need more wall space based on the one pic. Nice critters! Love that crow. I wish they all came that way.... we have crow issues here in town.

Love that little clip of your daughter taking aim at that chicken. Still laughing.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice mounts! Using the crow in the skull mount makes for a unique one for sure. Its a nice added touch.

Thank you. I really am glad I had it done. I was hoping he would take it to a competition because it’s so unique. I think it could win something.
