Bumped up to a .535 ball and .015 patch in my Sharon barreled Renegade. I also did a bit more work on the crown. Was using .530 ball and .018 patch, so I went up .005 on ball, down .003 on patch for a net gain of .002.
Loading was easier than previously noted and patches, while showing some stretching of the weave, were in fine shape. Still using a patch as an overpowder wad.
70 grains of 2f Swiss and 3 rounders at 50 yards were her best yet, the smallest at 1 inch and the largest 1 3/4 inches on a VERY breezy day. Group overlap was outstanding! I believe that with a bit more tinkering, this .54 will be a solid rifle with ball. Then, its on to conicals. Ouchies!
