With my Knight Peregrine
Went out today to do some accuracy testing with my new
Accurate Molds 40-290SG
I cast the boolits out of Isotope alloy and powder coated them
the range was 100 yards and the velocity at this point is unknown
I was using Blackhorn 209 and started with 100 gr./70w and shot 110 gr./77w
and then went to 130 gr./91w
the boolits look like this green.jpg
and the first group is above the paper
I was shooting at the top left bull1.jpg
that was 70 Gr/W
next is 77 Gr/W

I did shoot a 130 Gr/charge but that opened up to unacceptable size
so apparently this alloy is fine with 110gr/77W of Blackhorn 209
The alloy is ,guessing here, about 12 BHN its very similar to old fashioned wheel weights

Nice shooting & cool boolits - Zombie Killer Green

I am considering having this mold hollow pointed
to initiate expansion for hunting
No need hollow point /gas checks ! Pure lead with plain base shoots tiny groups@200 yds with
great expansion , 75gr weighed BH209/80 grains OE 3F in my TC Renegade 50 cal using Mag Spark 209 adapter or my CVA pocket rocket CVA V2 50 cal pistol/carbine with 4x Leupolds+ Havester 50x40 sabots

The word alloy would seem to imply these are not pure lead? If that is correct, then I think a hollow point might help for expansion. Especially at longer distances.

yes alloy is different lead compositions
say like lead and tin
or lead and antimony
for hunting I like binary alloy's, you can get behind them with more powder

I don't shoot a 50 caliber I am using a 40 caliber
pure lead will not hold up to a trip down my barrel with the charges I use
the check is on it for the pounding it take during launch
I do shoot pure in my 54 cal though
the hollow point is for experimentation I don't know if I would use it on anything bigger than a coyote but it makes things more interesting
