Been a good year.
Looked for 4 years for a walnut stock for my Black Diamond Super 45 XR, and thanks to JBaker, I finally have one.
Wanted to see if a fixed plug rifle is any harder to clean than one with a removable plug. A recently acquired .50 caliber Thunder Hawk made it clear that the answer is a resounding NO.
The Thunder Hawk had a Tupperware stock. Classic Firearms and Parts had a walnut stock and trigger guard, so this one also is properly dressed.
Herself, my original Black Diamond, a .50 caliber blued XR, came in Tupperware, but now wears the last walnut stock TC said theyhad when I ordered it 10 years ago.
My success is that I have 3 excellent muzzleloaders, wood and steel ( no plastic) and I am content with them.
And, I'm finally content to do the rest of my hunting with these 3 muzzleloaders.
Won't fret about 2nd shots. Hunting isn't a matter of life or death for me.
For the critter, yes.
If I make the shot, praise the LORD! Me and the deer both had our chances. He/ she blew it. I didn't.
If I miss. Well, I had my chance didn't I?
I blew it, they didn't.
That's probably how it should be.
