I’m looking at loading some up and rather than using lead shot I was going to use #12 TSS. My concern was the TSS in a rifled barrel damage. Needed a wad.
Knowing of no available shotshell capsule I thought of using sabots as wads. Maybe inserting a mylar wrap too.
Gots to try. It’s part of one’s reloading DNA.
The #12 TSS would make an awesome snake load.

I did load some up using Speer capsules in 357 and 45 LC btw.

Anyone else doing so?

Just put a card over powder dump in shot seal with a light weight round ball if the ball hits snake it is a bonus also weight shot and ball to determine powder and amount to use its simple

Hey Gun Nut, I’ve done the round ball load , two round ball load , round ball and shot, sabot loads and about everything else I could stuff in a handgun cartridge.
The TSS handgun shot shell loading is totally a new animal. Needs some special handling.
Fun stuff .

I did think about that. Thought using mylar wraps to beef up OD of the wad.
Still tinkering with the idea of a sabot in the ACP.
Cut .308 case to length and prep.
Prime, powder and sabot.
Size the neck.
Add shot and OS card.
Crimp.
Gawd it’s great to be retired and have time for this stuff ! :dance2:
