I was thinking of maybe putting something in the hollow point. I was thinking of a lead split shot or heating the bullet and adding some solder to the hollow point. Then shoot it into some wet cardboard or newspaper to check expansion. It might be easier to be consistent with weight with the solder. Cut even pieces of solder to put in each hollow point. Maybe make it into almost a flat point with the solder. Maybe just closing the hollow point up to a small tip. Just me thinking out loud.

I know folks have done that with screws and bb's to help penetration. Would be interesting to see how much it does/doesn't increase penetration.

It might be fun to experiment but there’s probably a different bullet that will accomplish what you want. Are you adding solder to increase the weight or to somehow alter expansion?

Yes, to aid in penetration, too slow expansion down, and add weight.
