Last winter this 250g Blue Diamond Bullet was captured, and the result was quite nice. Wished to see how the bullet would perform shot from a hunting rifle. Earlier this week the bullet was shot three times using an Omega X7. This morning the bullet was shot three times by an Omega Dream Season.

In both rifles load is 105g Triple Seven 2F, Black Crush Rib Sabot, 250g Blue Diamond, W209 primer. Rifles were swabbed between shots with a wet patch, and a dry patch.

It seems one should take this bullet hunting.

That looks like a Great Performing Bullet! 👍
In the “Test” it was shot sabotless in your .45 Cal Omega Correct?
What diameter do they come & did they need sized down or knurled up?

Correct. The bullet was also shot at bottles in sabot

Bullets are 0.452"; must be sized down to load, Bullets are very soft, thus are very easy to make smaller.

When shot sabotless, bullets don't seem to be very accurate; will not shoot sabotless any more.

Commenced shooting this morning from a cold clean barrel. Three shots is all; swabbed between shots with a wet patch, and a dry patch. Load mostly the same as OP, except used the sabot furnished with the bullet.

The included sabot loads good. Bestill' breech plug works great.

Was able to shoot some more of them Blue Diamond Bullets today. Also found a whole bunch of raspberries -- sweet. Shot 3 of 250g bullet, 105g Triple Seven FF, Crush Rib Sabot, W209 primer at paper, and one at bottle of water out 150 yard.

Shooting at paper verified aim, and one at bottle verified expansion.

Hold was as much as possible center on paper, and top of bottle

150 yard Bottle Shot

Headed up to gather raspberries for the lady. Seemed one could go ahead and do some shooting whilst out. Loaded some vials with 105g Triple Seven FF, and loaded some vials with the Blue Diamond Bullets in black crush rib sabot, and loaded a vial with W209 primers.

First bullet hit high right; about the same place as the OP. Dialed down about 16 clicks, and left about 7 clicks. Shot Three times more; scrubbing with a wet patch, and a dry patch, between shots.

Gathered up the stuff, and some raspberries, and went home. No bottles available.

Looks like the x7 & Dream Season both like the 250 Gr Berry’s in the Black Crush Rib sabots👍

Today went with 777 Powder. Scrubbed between shots; one wet patch, one dry patch. Used black crush rib sabot. Used W209 primers sorted for shortness. Used Bestill' breech plug. Shot through the clock. First shot through cold clean barrel.

That should put the hurt on a deer if that's what you are hunting. I've never tried the Blue Diamond bullet but I might give it a try when they become avaliable again.
