Does Williams make a FP peep that works on a CVA? What does getting the target knobs help you do that the regular FP doesn’t have?

Sorry i forgot that they dont make an FP sight for the Accura afiak. I keep meaning to make a mod to one so it will fit on an Accura. Williams has the WGOS I believe its called which is a regular type FO iron sight you can get a fiber optic ghost ring for it. It only has one size aperture, not replacable. The WGRS has the same adjustment but can use diferent size apertures of a common thread size. Same ones that will work in a lyman 57 and some soule sights. They also have an Ace-In-the- Hole, which is the same as the Eabco peep rib.

I someday intend to get something like the contender FP which is a top mount and mod it to go on my Accura.

Still trying to decide what to put on the rear of my Encore. I was going to go with the Western Williams but would like to be able to have an elevation adjustment.

I like the WGRS but you can not adjust in the field for longer shots. FP might be a good option

That’s what Kentucky windage is for.

Considering it’s a muzzleloader and open sights how much adjusting do you think you will be doing? I sight in before deer season and lock it down.

All of mine that are Williams WGRS, FP or EABCO Rib Peeps have the Merit Adjustable Hunting Aperture. Very Nice to be able to Open & Close it to Really Focus in on your Target. I believe they are discontinued but ebay may have some for Sale. Early Season last Year I Managed to connect on a decent Full Velvet Hybrid Buck @ 213 yards. That Adjustable Aperture & Green Fiber Optic sure made it easier!

I’ve used the Williams “Ace in the Hole” rail peep sight and XS Sight peep. Like them both.
I tested the XS Sight for a return to zero once removing then reinstalling. Found spot on.
I’ve posted pics on MML and discussed about these sights in the past. Will look up and post a link.

FWIW. Merit apertures are still available however you have to deal directly with Edward Grant ( (518) 763-3011 - [email protected] ).
I just bought one directly from him about three months ago.

Thanks for posting the thread, I am having a lot of the same questions.

Coming from archery over the past 15yrs, I’d be much more comfortable with a rear peep sight and small green front fiber. I’m used to looking at a 0.010” or 0.019” fiber, so my factory front sight is absolutely huge! Can anyone recommend a specific front green fiber or minimal diameter?

I have a Lyman MZ but it didn’t appear the Lyman 57 sight is compatible with my gun without modifying. I’ve been looking at the Williams FP but seems it’s not field adjustable for elevation. I’m happy to see someone above posted the thumb knob for the Gib lock. Does the elevation set screw also need a thumb knob? Finding a target version seems nearly impossible, so the only unfortunate thing is having to buy the sight, target knobs, and gib lock all from different sources. The shipped cost sure adds up!

Also, curious what aperture size you guys are using for hunting applications. Low light is always the challenge.
