Got out and tested the new hotter loads yesterday

zeroed @ 150 yrds shot 3 shot group .857" so sub moa @ 150 yrds
shooting 88gr 3031 375gr rbbt. @ 2500 fps

showed no signs of pressure on the primer and it shot extreamly well

Backed out to 300 yrds and shot 2 3 groups that averaged 2.5" right on the button so still holding sub MOA @ 300 !!! the bullet drop was 5.4 moa or 16.9". That matched my ballistic chart perfect so the bc. of .311 was right on!! Not bad for a ML bullet.

was too windy to shoot to 400 but hope to get there this week.

That is a very impressive result, sub moa at 300 yds is not something I have been able to accomplish with the 10MLII yet. I might just have to try your load. Can you give the rest of the trajectory on this? Thanks
100 yds-
150 yds- zero
200 yds-
250 yds-
300 yds- minus 16.9
350 yds-
400 yds-

rifleman

here is the drop chart: 375 gr rbbt Wildcat ML bullet B.C .311 @ 2500fps

i have shot the gun to 300 and all the drops are right on.

MOA INCHES

150 0 0
200 -1.5 -3.3
250 -3.3 -8.8
300 -5.4 -16.9 the time of flight is .438 seconds!!! @300
350 -7.7 -28.1
400 -10.2 -42.8
450 -13 -61.5
500 -16.2 -84.8 TOF .846 @500

the chart i use is much more extensive as i need more info to shoot past 200 yrds.

i set it up in 5 yard inc. and have 5,10,15 mph windage and temp ranges.

i use a kestral weather center for temp wind and brometer.

there is much more to shooting longrange than just the drops!! your gun and your bullet has to be built to handle it

I have a 35 " barrel 1 1/8 straight 1-26 twst to handle the long 375 gr rbbt Wildcat bullet !

not every gun/bullet will shoot to 300 nor where they made to!!!!!!!

good luck with the savage

not to stray to much but you havent seen a fireball intil you have fired an S&W .460 at night !!!!! dont worry about going any hwere for at least a 1/2 an hour.
