Buck Poles

A lot of small towns have buck poles/contests here in Michigan. How about your state? This where I used to hunt in Marlette, MI.

Not that I am aware of here in VA. We do have "big buck" contests an the local news paper used to put pics of big bucks in the paper, but don't see them any longer....
The local city government didn't have a Veteran's Parade this year and they call the Christmas Parade....Holiday Parade....not having that one either. At least my county goes Red everytime!!

We have one every year on Nov 18th. Right around the corner from my house at the fire dept. Looks a lot like that one. I havent been in many years. Its too crowded for my liking. Plus some of the bucks are from early bow season and smell like they've been hanging for a month or more.

I remember back in the day you would go thru small towns and see them hanging from hotel balconies, quite a site.
A few years back I saw a couple in the Southern Tier. A rare occurrence now.
