When I started casting I sought advice from known bullet makers, mainly people from the old DWB forum. People like Rich Tefertiller (Underclocked), Jeff Weedling (Batchief), Larry Hand (Woodgoat), and Ed Mehlig (EdMehlig) were all very generous with their time and knowledge, especially Ed. I also found this article back a while ago that seemed to help me understand the finer points of ladle casting. I thought some of you might be interested in taking a look at it.

Oh yeah! The rhythm is important. I smelt in big batches, and separate the first bunch of drops and just cull them usually, once you get rolling and get the 'rhythm' down, there's usually very little deviation.
