I hit the Mississippi River backwwaters again this morning at a balmy 18 degrees. No wind to start but a breeze did develop and began pushing thin shale ice into our little haven so the trip was short....but rewarding. We had an hour on nice water and grabbed 8 crappies around 12 1/2" and released maybe 15 in the 10 1/2" range. Dinner tonight is crappies.
