Some mixed two part epoxy squirted into the crack with a hypodermic needle will keep the crack from getting bigger. Is this the typical crack thru the lock bolt that happens quite frequently on older T/C guns?
 
I drilled mine through the crack and then used a bamboo skewer as a pin to add some longitudinal support. Now the crack would have to pull the bamboo lengthwise to open back up. It seems to be working pretty well. You could also use a long thin piece of metal rod (like a welding rod).
