Just shot mine for the first time today. I shot the recommended load of 140 by volume / 98grains by weight. I gotta say that it will pack shots on top of each other at 100 yards!!

No leakage issue as of yet.

Sighted in 3" high at 100 yards as the book states. This is supposed to be a 200 yard zero. I moved over to 200 yards and every shot fell 3" low of the bull. I did not chrono loads yet but will my next range trip.

Should i be seeing 6" of drop at 200 yards?

I have a feeling they are advertising off a false BC of the ELR. From all the posts im reading its true BC is .330.

Anyone else have any experience with the Paramount??
Yep, mine was about the same. Up Roughly 2.7 MOA at 200

I planned to put drop tape on my turret so I just zeroed at 100. At 200 I have to dial up about 2.7MOA. (That is roughly 5.4" difference between 100 and 200)

Here is the updated chart that tech service just sent to me. looks like they mis advertised the ballistics of the gun in their manual.
I am a little confused by the info.
A 100 yard zero drops 6.9" at 200
If i move that point of impact up 3.5" at 100 the chart shows it to be a 200 yard zero. That is only a 3.5" drop. How does the drop go from 6.9" to only 3.5" by moving the point of impact.

Am i missing something here?

TY

3" holdover at 100 yards = 6" holdover at 200. (give or take a fraction) I typically just convert my results from inches to MOA and verify it with a calculator. Also note that this chart was based on 140gr/vol charges which are 100fps slower than what I am seeing with 150/vol.

You were also shooting almost 3" low at 200 with a 3" high 100 yard sight in?
oh I just caught what you were saying earlier. If you were holding over 3" at 100, then yeah you should have been pretty close at 200. Mine drops about 5.5" from 100- 200. That would be about a 2.75" holdover at 100 to be zero at 200.

A 3"" hold over at 100 yards is giving me 3" low of the bull at 200. Equating to a 6" drop.

BTW I am seeing about 2340-2350 fps out of mine at 150vol using the ELR.

Here is the updated chart that CVA gave me for the 150gr/V load.

If you are aiming 3" high at 100 you are essentially holding 6" high at 200. If you then hit 3" low at 200 then you are seeing a 9" drop from 100 to 200.

If you look at a ballistics chart, you will see that with a 200yd zero, the bullet's path is still rising past 100yds. If you use a 100yd zero, the bullet's path has reached its upward rise at approx. 70yds and is on it's downward fall when reaching 100yds.

Line of sight is constant. Bullet flight path is an arch. The other variable is scope height. Line of sight is higher than bore. So line of sight and the actual path will cross at more than one location during flight.

Isnt sighting in at 150yd the easiest solution here?...That will put you close to 3"+/- all the way out to 200 yards?

I sighted in 3" high at 100 yards. I am hitting 3" low at 200.
I am cutting holes at 100 yards so accuracy is not the issue. All at 3" above bull.

I fired 7 shots at 200 and all hit 3" low of bull.

CVA's manual shows 3" high at 100 is a 200 yard zero.
The new ballistic chart they sent me shows 3.5" high at 100 is a 200 yard zero. I dont think if i raise my 100 yard sight in by .5 it will make up 3" at 200 yards.

I am not sure why in real world i am seeing ballistics that are not close to their advertised charts.

Isnt the chart you posted with the 150yard zero pretty close to what you are getting now?

Sure looks like it to me if sighted in at 3" high at 100 yards. I mean its under an inch off. A difference in scope height combined with shooting conditions is enough to cause that.

The 150 yard sight in is 1.5" high at 100 yards which is half of what i am at (3") at 100 yards. I should be much closer to the ballistics of the 200 yard sight in.

Go shoot it at 150 yards and take a chrono. See what speed you are actually getting. Lets remove the variables.

The 3.9" low at 200 yards is close if sighted in at 150 yards. Until you know your actual sight in and speed its a guessing game based on calculations.

I think you are reading the chart horizontally instead of vertically.

This is how i am interpreting the chart.
1.5" high at 100 yards
0 at 150 yards
-3.9 at 200 yards

I am going to Chrono it the next time out and also try the 150 V load.

What MV are you actually getting?...not guestimated
How high is the center of your scope above the center of the bore?
Are you using a sled?
Your barrel could be tighter or looser then the test rifle.
Your BH209 lot number may not be the same as theirs. Older lots varied weight vs volume. Lot# 31 and newer are supposed to vary much less.

Any of these things will cause your numbers to not jive exactly with theirs.
