Well I drew a Colorado tag this year, I saw a ton of deer and a lot of good deer. I was actually going after a large three point and ran into this guy. There were a lot of deer above tree line. I got into range of this guy and sat waiting for him to stand up for about 3 hours. I got real sunburnt in the process but it was totally worth it. Got the shot and he fell in the creek only going 30 yards. I saw a ton of great bucks and I can’t wait to get the tag again.
 
I would start with 80 gr (by Volume) of either powder and a 300 gr Hornady XPT in either 44 or 45 cal with the proper sabot. I'd be willing to bet that would give you much better accuracy and less punishment on the shoulder.
