Fwiw, when I was dealing with my barrel after cleaning it extensively I took a tight oil patch ran it down and flagged the rod and watched the flag when I pulled it back up.The only time it started to spin or turn was the last six inches near the muzzle so although I'd cleaned the barrel there was no rifling left that's when I turned it into a 54.

Didn't use the bore light to look at it (late at night). I'll take a look when I get off work. It doesn't turn the rod like my other two rifles do. It just tears the patch up or catches it and the rod gets stuck and I have to fanagle it and hope the patch is coming with it. Using a jag that doesn't fit as tight helps, but then the patch is loose.
