Got me ANOTHER breechloader.
A Feb 1967 production Remington 760, .308 Winchester..308 760s are uncommon around here and this one's in fine shape.
Scored a nice Redfield 70 aperture sight AND a Bausch & Lomb Balvar 8A with mounts for the 760.
Even found a proper magazine! Marked " .308" just like the original.
This one has a good trigger too. Not just 760 good, but a good trigger.
She was the FILTHIEST rifle I've ever seen! Don't believe the trigger unit had been dismounted since she left Ilion. Loaded with weed seeds and both red and orange fuzz. Now that she's cleaned and oiled, SLICK as snot.
Fired cases lack the typical 760 bulge... Bore is bright and shows little use.
Here w go again...

Yup! The dreaded " Amish AK"
I put a TC aperture sight on her as a " field expedient" unil I can get the Redfield 70 mounted.
Always liked the 760. They handle extremely well, but some complain about the recoil. I don't like recoil. But I never found cause to complain about the 760s I've had. Then again, I didn't use those HORRID see through mounts. They give a Mosin Nagant sniper type cheek weld, so the rifle gets a running jump before it belts you in the chops.
With an aperture sight, or a low mounted scope, I found They don't recoil any harder than any other rifle of similar caliber and weight.
Oh. No more green chair. Lost it in the divorce...

You could probably trade that old 760 for 300 Savage brass!
