Got part of a buck

Out for the opening day muzzleloader this morning.
I noticed a fresh looking rub close by.
Went to check and found a nice antler lying beneath the little tree.
Wish the buck was still under it, Lol

It lying flat on the ground right there. I flipped it up for the picture.
Definitely from last year.
Odd that it was right in that spot.
Makes me think that the buck travels through the same trail frequently. I'll be watching for him now.

Maybe so. I just added it to the small pile I have. My wife saw a lamp somewhere that the base was all deer antlers fitted together like a basket.
I think I need another half dozen more to make the lamp for her.

Hunting sheds and morel mushrooms is almost most as fun to me as actual deer hunting. I find leftovers throughout the year on my place in NW OK, but here in east TX if you don’t find them within a couple days of hitting the ground, the squirrels will have them eaten.

No doubt about it!

Would be perfect to make a cool powder measure, nipple pick handle, or peg for a clasp on a possibles bag… or maybe even all three!

I'm starting to feel a lot better these days but still learning about eating right and what not to eat.
