A mite early to be dropping an antler. Maybe the deer was just all pumped up with hormones and didn't realize his own strength, eh? lol

It lying flat on the ground right there. I flipped it up for the picture.
Definitely from last year.
Odd that it was right in that spot.
Makes me think that the buck travels through the same trail frequently. I'll be watching for him now.
 
Hunting sheds and morel mushrooms is almost most as fun to me as actual deer hunting. I find leftovers throughout the year on my place in NW OK, but here in east TX if you don’t find them within a couple days of hitting the ground, the squirrels will have them eaten.
