The.50 cal work great in mine , I'd imagine the .45 shoot just as good
 
The .45 and .58 are the old Huntsman with a slow twist barrel they may not shoot heavier bullets well.The .50 Sidekick and Huntsman are newer with a faster twist.Rumor was when they making the newer .50s that H&R was going to make a .45.I don’t think any were ever made.
 
Anyone try Conicals in there H&R 45 inline. I got a box of no excuses 45, 385 grain, .451 size. Has anyone tried any of these?
I have done extensive work with my .45 H & R Huntsman. The only conical that does well is the Lyman mold .445369, a 291 grain Minie bullet, Lee makes a similar mold.
