I have a 3-9X 40 Bushnell Banner 2 illuminated reticle on my CVA Scout 45-70 and would really like the to find out what the spacing is on the reticles or a way determine what the spacing is.
I'm thinking getting a big sheet of cardboard and marking a vertical line then put heavy lines about every 6" or so. Set the target at 100 yards and put the center crosshair on the top line then take readings for each successive line. From there I can say that, for instance, if the first stadia line is about 6" down its 6 MOA (approx), second stadia line at 12" then 12 MOA approx.
Do that for the rest of them and use the Hornady ballistics chart to plot what each line represents. Like for my load 1 = 175 yds, 2 = 215 yds, etc.
Or I can dial my power ring down so the lines fall for in line like 200, 250, etc.
What say you all?
