I have a Henry 45-70 with a curved brass buttplate. I would like to add a rubber recoil pad but do not want to cut the stock straight to fit the flat recoil pads and would rather not use a slip on recoil pad. Anything available?

Not many options for the Crescent Butt plates. Lace up pads look nice in my opinion, i have 2 of them, 1 on a TC Hawken, and the Other is my Lyman Great Plains Hunter Rifle. These are nice durable leather, they don’t have any actual Recoil dampening material in them, I filled the Crescent with a nice Memory foam material and Then Laced the Pad up good and tight.

Just an update. I got a Henry take off stock. Plan to cut it flat and add a rubber recoil pad. Keep the original stock.
The stock is held to the receiver by one bolt between the top and bottom brass tangs. Perhaps a steel pillar between might add a bit of strength, the stock wood at the wrist is thin IMO.
