As of right now its not legal here either and you can bet states that dont allow pellets are not gunna allow a "pellet" that loads from the breach.

Indiana doesn't have many restrictions on muzzleloaders. You can use just about any sort of propellant, ignition and projectile combination you want. However the regs state:

"A muzzleloading firearm must be capable of being loaded from only the muzzle."

I think that settles things for Indiana. The Firestick won't fly here.

Could be they left the patent open so someone can actually improve it? Open source like they do in the IT world. I will try triple 8 "granules" at least once.

There’s a ledge in there that prevents the bullet from being loaded from the breech.

I will be very interested in seeing the granular powder as long as its not a sugar or ascorbic acid based propellant. If the granular really competes against BH209 for less money im all ears. ATM i dont see that happening unless its a nitrated powder and in the past Hodgdon was strongly against that.

That’s pretty much what the sidelock guys have been saying about inlines all along. :D
It’s just a matter of where you decide to draw the line...

You could load that bullet from the rear in a cartridge rifle. You couldn’t in this thing of Traditions. That’s the only difference.

This gun is a joke as far as muzzleloaders are concerned. But all that said I'm really hoping that Triple 8 is a new powder and they're using this to launch it. My thought is that someone at least as smart as me (which isn't saying too much) is running Hodgdon and would have the foresight to realize that this firestick is going to fall flat on it's face. There's no way they would put that much time into developing and branding a powder that can only be used in one gun that few will buy. Hopefully this new improved powder will still be released at SHOT and then we'll actually have something interesting to talk about.
