Just wondering if the hammer gets in the way of mounting the scope. I guess it depends how you position the scope.... :think: .... I like the looks of Busta's "Super Smoker"

I dont think so. IIRC Remington bought H&R. H&R 1871 production ceased 27 February 2015
 
Henry offers a 45/70 single shot but only in 22" blued. Cost about the same as a Scout V2 also. Knight made a KP1 years ago and they were supposed to come out with a KPX remake of that rifle but i never heard much after the rumor of its release.
