Just bought my first Muzzleloader (MK-95 .50) and need some help.

Almost forgot about this, 38 special and 357 brass cases can be shortened and used if you can’t locate anymore of the plastic cases.

I can't find any speer cases either. What is the trim length for the 38 cases? Do you use standard or magnum spp?

The trim length for the cases is .775 inch. In the plastic cases I use CCI 250 primers. In the 38 spc cases I use CCI 500. You can ream the primer pocket to use the large rifle primers, but I didn’t notice any difference while using Blackhorn powder. Hope this helps.

Wonder if you could get away with 38 short colt brass its suppose to be .765 long
