I picked up a couple used Super 91 .451 rifles last week and took one out this past weekend to test drive it.

I’ve gotta say I’m impressed so far. I slapped on a Leupold 1-4 that was sitting on top of the safe and loaded 70gr of 777 3F and White Shooing Star .40 350 gr in sabots (don’t have any conicals for it yet). Two shots to adjust the scope at 25 and then I shot two groups at 50 yards. Swabbing between shots gave me about a 1 inch 3 shot group while no swabbing produced about 1.25” group. Not too bad.

I ran out of time, but next time I’ll spend a little time experimenting with other charges and bullets.

My rifle will shoot that load into an inch....at 100 yds. I use Ed Mehlig's 347 and 465 gr conicals, sized to .452. You're on the right track in my opinion. Goodd shooting, and good luck!

A great classic rifle and the best caliber in my opinion
Congrats and good luck swirl hunting!
