Fortunately edmehlig posted a Rumble copy of Lewis' casting video here: Casting Tip: Mold Temperature for PURE Lead, (scroll down - it's towards the bottom of page 5) so it's still available. After watching the video last night, and reading your and eekjellander's responses to my question about multi-cavity molds, I think I'll stick to single cavity molds, despite the higher cost. I can see that it would be difficult to maintain mold temperature with a multi-cavity mold, and Lewis makes it clear that the right mold temp is critical to casting good bullets.

Don't forget a hot plate for getting/keeping molds hot ,1st thing needed and CHEAP !/Ed

Great idea - I've got a really good one that the missus and I bought for popping popcorn. She's already told me that this hot plate will also be used for pan lubing bullets instead of her stove....

Nice thing about casting is your wrinkles can go back in the pot ,no waste just better next time , success is perfection and your pot will be up to temp this time /Ed

Now you got it ! Them bullets look great ! I also make fishing jigs & same thing happened to me , everything needs to be hot with good pure lead & clean pouring nozzle .

More heat in da pot and preheat your mold I use a cooking hot plate turned on high to preheat mold.
