I shoot a SR1911 and a knight Disc with sabots. Knight shoots 240xtp with green harvester sabot well with 2f 777. The 1911 seems to like anything. The issue I have is in Illinois the projectile has to be 45 caliber or better (can’t settle for A 36 or .429). I like Lee mounds I also considered a SW .500 mould as well the ROT is 1 in 28 I believe

Does it not like the Harvester black sabot and a 45cal XTP? The Speer 45cal 260gr HP would be worth trying. They are cheap and hold up better than the XTP. They are just a pain to find as easily.

The problem you will run into for multi purpose is weight. The weights that work well in a 45ACP are not ideal for the velocity of a ML. Knight DISC 50cal should all be a 1-28 twist. That will stabilize almost any full bore bullet you shoulder can handle. Something around 400gr is a good place to start for 50cal conicals. They dont need a ton of powder to work well.

My 45 cal. mold is an old .45 cal. 240 gr. Maxi T/C 1601918731891.png
