WHY did you have to show me that!!!!!!!!

    Not sure on the bolt

Older stocks will need a little inletting for the lug. New ones might not.

My disc extreme red p j bolt with the Lehigh primer carrier will not work in my mountaineer, it slides in, but the bolt Handel won’t turn down. Not sure if the primer carrier is hitting the shoulder of the breech plug, or if the stem of the breech plug is touching the bolt face. It could be made to work with a little sanding.

It's probably the rear of the bolt. Slightly oversized. I had the same issue on some of mine.
    Removed the firing pin .
Coated the rear of the bolt with dykem.
Saw where it was touching the metal.
This around and under the bolt handle.
Removed that area on the bolt and reassembled.
    Ouila'.
Confirmed with Knight CS about this issue.
And found it was the correct action.
Newer bolt won't fit in earlier Disc rifles without this mod.
With this said a Disc Ext bolt I would think fit.
Try removing breech plug and firing pin to see if bolt will work.
Then firing pin installed less np.
    Hope this helps.

The disc bolt works good in the mountaineer, without the primer carrier. The primer carrier is hitting on the shoulder (wrench flats) of the breech plug. So grinding the rear of the bolt Handel is NOT the proper fix. The mountaineer bare primer bolt works good in the disc extreme.

I seem to remember someone saying that the DE bolt will work if you use a DE breach plug too?

Just tried the DE bolt & breech plug in the mountaineer. It won’t fire the primer, just a slight mark on the primer cup, using a win. Primer. .304 in length. No crush on the primer. It could be made to fire if several shims are added.

GM. i think Sabotloader is the one that mentioned this before. I seem to recall you did just a bit of sanding on one part of the Primer carrier to make it all work, possibly the face of it?

Thats great because it removed the temptation for me to order one. :D

On a side note i found out you can order the DE FPJ bolt housing for $61.25 from Knight. No guts just the housing. Ive wanted to upgrade my bolt body to the newer one.

I spoke with Jason at Knight about the .45 Mountaineer & the 500 .45
I did this to educate myself more on them to make a solid decision on what I'm fount to buy. Ive not seen anything else that surpasses the CVA Paramount .45
He tried to tell me that the Mountaineer was comparable to the Paramount & that the 500 was far superior to both. From what I've learned so far it's the 500 that is " comparable " to the Paramount NOT the Mountaineer & that the 500 is NOT superior to the Paramount in any aspect. Plus the 500 can ONLY be purchased in their 21-2200.00 Kit. You can not just buy the gun alone. IMHO Knight eliminated itself from my purchase choices & the Paramount still reigns #1 off the rack LRML on the market today. So that's that!
    Great post. Kind regards

Let me know when a Paramount is in the top 3 at Friendship. So far the last appearance was a failure and the LRMP modules leak as bad or worse than a Knight bare primer system. Mountaineers have taken that prize many times. Lehigh bare primer setup is around $31 plus shipping. Bestill bushing plug is about $80. Both are virtually blowby free when installed correctly and made from 17-4 SS.

Not really sure what your post even had to do with me though? Not sure why i was quoted at all actually within the context of your post? The Paramount was never mentioned. This is a Knight topic.

Im just thrilled i can get a 45 1-20 action if i choose to do so. I have all the other parts on hand. $339 sounds way better to me than more than twice that much for stuff i dont need.

I know where i can get a like new Mountaineer 45 1-20 TH stock with Seekins rings, a Murphy custom 20moa base and Lehigh plug right now for $750. Thats nearly $300 for that base and rings new. Ive seen the video of that rifle smacking a gong at 600 yards so i know its a shooter.

A Knight bolt is a Knight bolt. The bolt from a DE will work in a Mountaineer but you do need to have the Mountaineer Breech plug whether it be a FPJ or NFPJ breech plug.

This is a Mountaineer with Knight FPJ bolt and a Lehigh primer adapter. And mounted in Knight DE Thumbhole stock.

This is a Knight Mountaineer dropped into DE thumbhole stock

But... It has to be a newer stock that is inlet to fit a Knight Rifle with a forked recoil lug. Some of the older Knight stocks are not inlet to receive the 'forked recoil lug'.

And there you go. 10/4 Sabotloader
I posted earlier and I failed to mention I was adding a bare primer bolt to a earlier Disc rifle. Orange disc to be exact. Newer bolts are a bit oversized in the rear. In this case not the fix without any capitalization. Just good proper grammar. LOL
Easy test I would've tried would be to remove the breech plug. Then insert the bolt. If it closes then the mechanics are good. Just a length of the bolt or the breech plug somewhere then is the issue.
    Make sense?

I would still be tempted to get one if i could be sure the lands would be .451. Im setup for that size or smaller. Larger would mean lots of my bullet are too small and new ones would need a Swinglock. Ive got everything but a Mountaineer plug and those are cheap from Lehigh. My TH stock is even cutout for the forked lug already.

Has anyone even competed with a Paramount at Friendship, yet? Or anywhere for that matter? If so, who? The rifles have only been available for 4-5 months. Knight is obviously sponsoring the majority of competitors in the inline competitions, just like Mathews and Mission do in archery / crossbow competitions, possibly paying a contingency payments to all the placers?

So you think the Paramount Ignition is worse than the Knight 500 RFPJ ignition, the only way it comes from the factory? The Paramount has the optional factory 209 primer ignition as well.

I hope you don't have any grand delusions that those Knights competing and placing in the top 3 at Friendship are factory stock rifles?

Pro shooter means paid shooter in my part of the world.

Maybe you should give CVA a year or two to buy off a couple of the top shooters, then let's see what happens. They've already got some competition shooters that work for Bergara USA custom rifles that could do it. Whether or not they will, is another question.

Looks like a few are already getting a little paranoid that might just happen!

How many Nula's, Remingtons, Ultimate Firearms, T/C's, Cooper's, Savages, Swinglocks, Whites, H&R/NEF's, MDM's, Gonics, Traditions, Pedersoli's, Bad Bull's, Peifers, Michigan Arms Co, Lenartz's, Marksbury's, Khanke's, Lymans, Winchester's, Navy Arms, Rugers, Rossi's, LHR's, Woodman Arms, Gunwerks, Austin & Hallecks, Palmetto Arms, Ft Worth Arms, Brolin Arms, Norinco's San Pan Specials are placing at Friendship? How many are competing?
    They've all made Inline Rifles.

    Sorry if I forgot anyone.

I'll try to answer, the only one person tried to compete with a Paramount, it leaked and he said couldn't get to group. Second question, There isn't a factory rifle made that doesn't have to have something done to breech system to make shoot. The Knights competing are factory except for breeches. Do not confuse Inline Matches with what went on with Manufactures Match in the past. The Paramount just needs the breech system fixed. The fellows name that had a Paramount was a roundball bench shooter with a few National titles, Bill Bolen.
CVA was ask to attend with Paramount more than once but wouldn't , do not know why don't care. There are no professional paid shooters that I know of , factory rifles and custom all compete against one another now only restriction is weight on the rifle. No one is paranoid about a Para mount competing, like to know where that is coming from.
Few of us that have been competing since the beginning finally realized that the rifle has to be a good one but mostly it is the shooter and because rifle isn't the winner doesn't mean it isn't as good.
I repeat Knight doesn't sponsor the majority .
    When scores are only seperated by 2 points in first 5 shooters, it is the competition not the rifles. Top scores not counting x's 1. 170 2. 170 3. 169 4. 168 5. 168 , 170 15x is perfect.
