The Honda Polish leaves no oily feel at all. It dries like a silicone spray. Spray it on a rag and wipe down the entire barreled action. Works great on SS.

Considering you can get the WD Specialist for under $15 a can its a bargain.

I seen one of these Tests with Salt spray, it Showed a bunch of different Oils, one of them that did the very best was Hoppes Elite T3, With Molybdenum. It sold me, I bought several Bottles of it and have been using it for Quite Awhile now, it’s darn good Oil :lewis: It is now Cleverly disguised as “BoreSnake Venom”

Somewhere I read that the Hoppe's Elite products are water based instead of petroleum based. This was awhile ago. True or not? Any cause for concern? Yea, I know you can't believe everything you read, but it can't hurt to ask.

I wouldnt think so since hoppe's is a gun care company ....i dunno..... i would guess its in the MSDS info..

Isnt this turning into an awesome thread !!! ??? Way cool !!!
Happy Thanksgiving Rockman !!!

Taken from Hoppes

Hoppe’s best gun oil with a special T3 additive contains liquid molybdenum and liquid PTFE. With the lowest coefficient of friction known to man, this gun oil applies a thin coat technology that will not separate or breakdown, provides long-lasting corrosion protection, and has a temperature range of -40 F to 320 F.

  • Developed from dental-drill oil (which spins up to 1.5 million rpm)
  • Thin-coat technology that will not separate or break down
  • Long-lasting corrosion protection
  • Temperature range: -40° F to 320° F

I wont put anything with Teflon, graphite or moly in my bores. Mainly because it serves no function in a ML bore. Not a huge deal really unless you are dealing with sabots and not swabbing out your bore before shooting it.

Hoppes has or had an Elite for black powder too. Cant imagine though why i would spend that kinda money when soap and water works fine for most subs.

This Hoppes Elite T3 Gun Oil Smells VERY Different than anything i have ever used. I can tell ya one thing it STAYS PUT, I learned a Valuable lesson, i will never use it again on a Steel Bullet Mold :) It DEFINITELY PROTECTS, AND THEN SOME!! I did my Normal Brake Cleaner on that Mold, Hit it with my Air Nozzle, Headed down to Cast. I did my Normal Routine, I got that Mold HOT, EXTREMELY HOT, Yet I wasn’t getting good Fill out??? It finally Dawned on me! That stuff was STIL on/in my Mold!!

It is the ABSOLUTE BEST Gun Oil/Firearm Protectant i have ever used BAR NONE, But it’s a Little to good for Bullet Molds, you have to Work to get it clean

Wow !!! Thats impressive !!!

Moly sticks to everything like mad. Ive got some moly paste if you get it on your hands you wont be washing it off. It will have to wear off. I used it in/on my final drive on a motorcycle i had with shaft drive. Even after a year of riding the shaft splines looked just like the day i covered them in paste...nasty stuff. :p

I am exactly opposite here, I have had STELLAR Results with Teflon, and Moly as a Protectant in ALL of my Muzzleloaders. I have used Teflon (Rem oil, Pump Spray) From my very beginning in Muzzleloading. I just make DARN sure it’s Clean, Out of my Bores before i Shoot :lewis:
