When I emailed mark about this he told me 40 with n110 , I’m sure he knows his barrels.I have to look into my emails, I believe he said 40 max
Checked , 40 would be about all I would want, from mark.I trust him,he’s done a ton of shooting with his guns. I’m not saying I will start there but I could end there

That’s a one inch shank at 28 inches long ending at .750 brux
Just to be clear, I’m new to smokeless.i built 2 omegas this year so i can shoot a ton when I retire in April. I have 1-20 twist and 1-18 both brux . I plan on hunting with black horn ,but the cost just prohibits the amount of shooting I plan on doing. plus smokeless is not legal in my state, so I’m doing a ton research.I have 110 and 120 ordered, can’t find h4198 anywhere.does anyone know who has any in stock.

There’s no H4198 anywhere online (aside from Gunbroker) at the moment, as far as I know.
Hodgdon posted yesterday at the Shot Show and said they expect to have it available this Spring.

They also said they plan to have Trail Boss available by the end of summer as well. For those anxiously awaiting on it to come back.

The last time at my LGS there was some 4198.

You could but I think you will start blowing sabots first.

I’ve heard the imr is not as good as hodgdon
In one of Bestill’s videos, he says to stay away from IMR, I believe because of temperature instability. Seems like a lot of guys use it and like it. I have shot some (very successfully) at the range, but it was 70* outside. Patiently waiting for H4198 to become more readily available, as it seems to be THE POWDER for .45 SML

Any of the slower powders will probably be a worse choice for "reduced" loads or even a mid level 200gr load for that matter. If someone is lucky enough to have a good supply of 4759 or N110 you can easily match or beat BH209 speeds with a fraction of the powder/recoil/cost/ect. 4759 shines because its speed is excellent for the pressure created and solid dependability.

It was quite popular among MLII and NULA owners. I got a couple bottles and 1 metal can of the old.

I believe mark woodman doesn’t recommend imr for the same reasons as jeff Fisk

6 of 1....................
There will be a lot less issues with modules vs 209 primers. I have a couple pounds of it and they sell it all over up here. I have H also, unopened. I just don't shoot and haven't shot any 4891.
I prefer 8208, Benchmark and H4895

That’s what I’ve been reading, I’ll probably use a wool wad also
With a wad, maybe 37ish....🤷‍♂️..just have shoot it to see....

From all the information given here, it sounds like like 4759 is my best bet with a 200grn bullet in a sabot.

I’m surprised, it was my favorite choice in 50cal smokeless with a 250grn bullet in the Nula.

I liked N120 in the Savage
