Hello all, new to the forum here, and getting back into BP after a couple of decades. Most of my time on the range has been related to 3 gun competitions, IPSC, and IDPA but I started to miss making smoke clouds. Started looking at pre 1899 firearms and spiraled downward from there.

Dont you mean spiralled 'upwards'? Everything else is just a gateway to muzzleloaders (and sometimes archery)

@michiganmuzzy isn’t everything in the hobby just a gateway to another gateway? Simple repair becomes gunsmithing tools which becomes stock inletting which leads to building guns, etc..

Meh, it’s like that for all the shooting sports and heck, most other hobbies. Fortunately I’ve stayed mostly prepared for the hobby, although I certainly can use more caps. But who couldn’t.
