These guys sure aren't sitting on their thumbs.

I stumbled across these last night looking for something else. No clue they even existed. Looks like just 3 short actions for this year (6.5 Creedmore, 7mm-08, .308), then more along with long actions next year.

Bringing the Bergara rifle to the masses. Watch the second video for the best information.

Would be nice to see these chambered in .450 Bushmaster and the new .350 Legend from Winchester. Hint, Hint!

Good job CVA, keep it coming!

+1.

I could not find a posted weight on it. I would love to see one of them in person. This one is set to compete with the Ruger RA.

See next post.

UPDATE!

I was just in Indianapolis pretty much all day yesterday at the 2019 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits.

I drove down there mainly to handle the Paramount, as I was entertaining the possibility of buying one. I had questions about the 2019 Cascade andScout TD. According to the 2019 lineup Catalog, all the Scouts will be TD (quick take-down capability) for this year. I'm thinking about buying the new non-cataloged Scout TD, chambered in .350 Legend. I also wanted the information, directy from the company heads, man to man.

CVA and Bergara both had full displays, with all of their guys there available for answering any questions. I talked to almost all of them at one point or another. These are the names of the ones that I talked to directly, amongothers. I would say, they might just know a wee bit more than anyone else about the availability of these rifles.

Dudley McGarity - General Manager of BPI Outdoors

Jason Sebo - VP of Sales And Marketing

Tony Smotherman - InfluencerRelations

Chad Schearer - Director of Advertising / Media Relations of CVA

Here is the CVA display, the Bergara display was about 3-4 times this size.

All of them seemed to love what they do, and who wouldn't if you can talk about muzzleloaders and rifles all day, and still get paid?

The Good news is for anyone waiting for the Scout TD in .350 Legend, is they should start becoming available in August.

The Cascade rifles are quality rifles, as I suspected coming from Bergara, with Bergara Barrels. The stocks feel great (Soft Touch Finish), very sturdy fiber-glass reinforced, are adjustable for length of pull, have real steel swivel studs, with 2 in the forend for 3 total. Free-floated barrels, with a real beefy recoil lug. Trigger pull is excellent, and no take-up blade like all the rest of the manufacturers except Winchester have. The magazines are flush fit, and come out with authority when the release is pressed. 70 degree bolt throw, barrel with real beefy recoil lug, and a 5/8 x 24 thread and pitch for a brake or suppressor.

They chambered these in popular short action calibers for 2019, with plans for more short action, and long action calibers in 2020. Cuurrent calibers: 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08 Rem, and .308 Win.

Now for the GREAT NEWS, straight from Dudley himself. The NEXT TWO calibers that will be chambered in the Cascade Rifles are, .450 Bushmaster and .350 Legend. The bad news is, do not expect them before 2020.

These CVA Cascade Rifles are a step up from all the other budget rifles in this class being chambered for straight walled cartridges. If I had to place them all in the order of my preference, it would be as follows. Keep in mind, I've only shot the Ruger American with live ammo, but have pulled the triggers on the rest. They all have their pluses and minuses, but it would take way too long to list each one. This is how it would shake out for me, according to what I prefer. If I were able to shoot them all, this order would be subject to change. YMMV?

CVA Cascade
Winchester XPR
Savage 110 Wolverine
Remington 783
Ruger American
Mossberg Patriot

Ironically, my first 2 choices are made across the pond in Spain and Portugal, respectively. Neighboring countries.

Trump was also speaking at Lucas Oil Stadium yesterday, which is in the block next to the Convention Center.
I spent $85 on gas for my truck, $25 to park and walk about a mile each way to the Convention Center from the onlyparking garage that wasn't full (7 large city blocks), and about $30 for food. The whole down town was filled to capacity and beyond. So that's more than my 2 cents worth!:D

I still prefer the Scout TD, but the Cascade would be my first choice from all of the budget bolt actions. At least for now!

Another Excellent Write up Busta! That Cascade is a good looking rifle too!
3 questions for ya. Any idea on the overall weight, length of the barrel (22"?) and if the trigger is adjustable?

Thanks!

Thanks.

The weight I'm not sure of the exact weight, but the 6.5 Creedmoor models they had on display weighed more than the RA in .450 Bushmaster. The catalog/brochure doesn't list the weight, but I would guess between 6 and 6.5 pounds. The Accura MR weighs 6.3 pounds for comparison. All 3 of the ones that they are currently chambered for are 22" barrels. Not sure what the .450 Bushmaster and .350 Legend will be? Not positive if the trigger is adjustable or not, it don't mention it in the catalog either. The two different ones I pulled the trigger on didn't need a thing, both excellent. I was expecting those details to be in the"catalog", but the catalog is just called "2019 Lineup."

The Remington Trigger (accu-trigger clone) sucked, but I'm pretty sure it is adjustable. The stock had both sling swivel studs molded in and was not free floated. Forend was right up against the barrel on both sides. The more I think of it, I think that it deserves to be below the Ruger, maybe even below the Mossberg sucking hind teat.

The Winchester in the walnut stock was quite nice looking, but that display stock already had several battle scars. Not real deep, but this is where the beauty of a good fiber-glass reinforced stock like on the Cascade, shines. most of those synthetic stocks (Ruger, Remington, Mossberg, Winchester, Savage) on those budget bolt rifles are not much more than recycled milk jugs.

You'll have to zoom in on these, but that is everything in the 2019 Lineup brochure on the Cascade.

All good info. Thanks a bunch! :thumb: I really do want to see and handle one. I forgot what my RA weighed sans scope but they list the Go Wild 450BM (22" barrel) at 6.6lb though it has a brake unlike my Stainless from Randy's. Sounds like the Cascade will be in a reasonably comparable weight.

Your right on about the Flimsy stocks too. The RA is pretty Flimsy but mine shoots well enough that I don't plan to do any thing to it. I do have a second stock as the original had the forend touching the barrel on the left side placing a good bit of pressure on the barrel. They sent one free of charge and did not want the old one back. I got the "V" blocks out and plan to try rebedding them back in, more to just see if I can do anything with it than anything else.

I just looked in the Winchester brochure, I'm going to change the Cascade Weight to 6.75ish pounds.

The Winchester XPR with 22" barrels are coming in at 6.75 pounds in both Walnut and synthetic. 20" @ 6.5 pounds. 24" @ 7 pounds. 26" @ 7.25 pounds.

The 16" Ruger comes in at 5.5 pounds, according to the specs.

Im seeing the weight listed as 6.95lbs. Pricing under $500 at some places. Not in stock yet obviously.

Thanks, I couldn't find the weight anywhere. After seeing the Winchester weights, I knew I was low on my first SWAG. The (CVA & Winchester) displays were in two different parts of the building, so I couldn't do a side by side comparison. At least not without a police escort and a trip downtown. :D

My Ruger American 16.12" barreled .450 Bushmaster is light as a feather in comparison at 5.5 pounds. Too light IMO, especially in the barrel. Very heat sensitive. The Remington has a heavy barrel, but the stock is horrible, and the trigger is the worst of all.

The CVA Cascade will bring the Bergara Barrel in a Bolt Action Utility Rifle to the masses.

Im quite impressed with the calibers they chose to release first. IIRC all are available in managed recoil loads too. We know the scope bases are compatible with Savage bases. What we dont know is what else is compatible. The B-14 for example shares some upgrades with a Rem700.

At the sub $500 price point though it really dont matter as long as the trigger and stock are not garbage.

The stock is in a class above the other stocks in this class. It is rigid with the fiberglass reinforcement, versus the cheap plastic on all the rest. It also has the Soft Touch finish applied, which gives you outstanding grip in all types of weather.

The triggers on the two that I pulled, were excellent, and I wouldn't have done anything to them. Probably why I didn't even think to ask if they were adjustable? Them two needed nothing! To know that it is adjustable, is just icing on the cake.

I would have liked to see the barreled receiver out of the stock, but I'd liked to to have seen that on all the rifles.

I own a Ruger American in .450 Bushmaster, and have now handled ALL of the budget bolt actions on the same day, under the same roof. Which includes Remington, Winchester, Ruger, Savage. IMO, the CVA by Bergara just clearly stands out as the head of the class.

If it shoots as good as it looks and feels by comparison, the others will either have to step up their game, or out of the way. There's a new Sheriff in town!

CVA can’t run away from everybody. Who would they steal their ideas from? Lol

CVA is absolute garbage and so is Dudley.

Anybody here know the actual history of this company? Its a joke. Bergara? Lmao.

Do your homework boys. Dont support these assholes
