The 265's came today and they sure look good. I have been playing with a few and the sizeing die trying to determine the barrel fit I want in the scout. They size beautifully from .453 down to .450 in one push through the hankins die. I did use a touch of imperial wax for lube but dont think it really needed it. I want to get out there and shoot a few but I need to replace a dryer vent pipe thats getting plugged up first, lol, it's always something.

I think shooting milder loads you're shooting in that CVA it's going to like it,, the fury 250 , 275 star tip and the point-tip versions, have more bearing surface than Pittman's , parkers, the sidewall is taller in proportion to the bullet,, I think in the CvA barrels ,, they will shoot better, I think the 265s are going to shoot good in a lot of guns,, my Paramount sure likes them good luck

Rain, rain, rain, what’s worse is the range closed due to the pandemic rule.

Daggoneit man! Ain't that a kick in the jimmies. I'm gonna send some 280 ELR's & some .453 Fury's downrange outta the CVA Accura .45 that I just got blessed with tomorrow with T7fff
And I have some 10mm 180gr XTP bullets sized up for the .40cal 1:37 twist TC Seneca I just got 2 days ago. I have a Pedersoli 12ga dbl barrel too that I really need to get patterned ASAP spring turkey season is right around the corner & we have more Osceolas running around here than I've ever seen before. I grew up in Md. we had Easterns there, but Nuthin like whats here, They are thriving & growing rapidly. We see flocks of 30-50 at a time around the house & surrounding fields. There will be thunder & smoke clouds here tomorrow, Kind regards

Also I just learned that running the bullets backward through the sizing die just 1 time with a lil smidge of Imperial sizing die wax ( I used a dab of Bore butter the other night on the .40 cal pistol bullets I had to size works great. No/zero galling worries with that stuff. I wouldn't size jacketed bullets without it. I also found that turning my Lee press upside down worked way better too. Kind regards

I have a 40 year old rcbs rockchucker jr. press that belonged to my dad along with a redding powder throw meter, and a small digital scale to double check things. man the wind is howling here.

I just ordered some of the .453 265grn Fury's. By the time they get here the weather should be better. Just hope the range will be open.

Michigan Shooting Centers which runs the Island Lake range has posted that the outdoor range is closed till further notice but the gun store inside is still open for business. A little weird but ok. can't shoot at the farm now either. Farmer is doin' farmer stuff and don't wanna git shot. Not supposed to target shoot on state land but i may try to get away with it next week.

I'm still waiting for a nice day to shoot, heck it has rained about every night here lately, and windy and chilly during the day. I own a little 140 acre farm and have access to another one across the road where I shoot so I can get out there spur of the moment when the mood strikes me. and I have shot out of my truck window when I wanted to shoot badly enough, lol

well I did a little shooting today with the cva scout conversion, sml, and tried the fury 265's and fury star tip regular crimped nose 250's but I jacked the load of h4198 up from 56.3 to 59 gr. and I was getting 1 1/2 to 2 inch groups at 104 yds. still alot of testing to do with this new gun with all the variables but I was doing better with 56 gr of 4198 and 275gr bullets I think. Plus I didn't feel like I was on my game today either. Maybe the gun just likes 275's and possibly 300's for bullets and a modest charge of 56 gr of 4198 which is still plenty of horse power for the deer around here. I may also have had the bullets sized a little large too as it took my short starter to get them started down the barrel. the wind was kicking a little too.
