Actually I am just rekindling interest in traditional muzzle loaders. I have a couple John Browning .50 mountain rifles, a few T.C. rifles and one flintlock.

I was out yesterday with John Browning 50. It shoots great groups at 25 & 50yds, but all over the target at 100…!! I tried different charges 60,70 and 80 w/.490 & .495 balls and pillow ticking from Wally world. I made up some mule drool or spit with ballistol, water, Murphy’s soap… maybe need another lube source…?
I may go back out today and try another rifle at 100.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to consider a few different types of patch material.

Best regards

Rob
