New Rifle

The UPS guy dropped off my new traditions deerhunter rifle in 45 caliber today.
It's got a round ball barrel, 1/66 twist.
I recently sold my 32 Crockett rifle to finance this purchase.
I plan to hunt with it along with my 45 cal Kentucky pistol.

I haven’t shot round ball in over twenty years. Have you shot it yet,if so how accurate is it ?

wife and daughter bought me this gun for Christmas one year.It came with a 50 cal. barrel and a 32 also.The 50 is a slow twist barrel, and they are both good shooters. enjoy!

I've had the rifle for quite a while now. 445 round ball, 010 cotton patch over 70 grains of 3f Old Ensyford or Swiss, puts em in the black every shot at 50 yards no problem. Last time out with it, I tried 70 grains of Triple 7 2f. Shot perfect.

I’ll have to buy me another slow twist sidelock because the one I had is long gone. Round ball and patch is much cheaper than the fancy inline bullets and or saboto.
