I've got a 6 month old Maytag purchased new that is going on it's 4th repair. I'm on hold right now waiting to talk to a specialist to see about replacing the frig. If they won't, I think I will toss it in the street and put a sign on it 'Free Manure'

We're all set now. We had a guy come out from the local appliance store. He was able to fix it for us. Maybe it will last a few more years.
I just replaced our 16 year old fridge last month and last week the range. I guess by current standards that is pretty good. Sure doesn’t seem that good. I don’t remember my parents ever replacing either.

They don’t make them like they used to. We had one for over thirty years when I was a youngster. Now I’m in my seventies seems like I’ve replaced the last two every ten years or less. Technology sucks.
Similar experience my son had. He taking HVAC classes and discovered the fan on the compressor went bad and fridge is only 5 years old. So $10 fan and replace himself or new $1200 fridge....no choice there -- works fine now
