Today was the opening day of muzzleloader here in Oklahoma.
I hunted a new to me state land wma, which I only heard about last week. I did a look see last Sunday. Found a good looking spot near a dried up creek bed.
Lucky enough to see 4 deer with one decent looking buck.
At about 11 am, I had a big doe walk by at about 15 yards. I threw my Optima pistol up on the sticks, leveled er off and BLAM.
Holy crap, total miss!
I want to think that my bullet hit a small tree branch, it was kinda brushy. Couldn't believe it.
Oh well, that's hunting. Back again in the morning. This time with the treestand and rifle.

That’s why it’s called hunting and not killing😜. You’ll get ‘em tomorrow!

A friend of mine missed a deer with a centerfire rifle. We searched and found a limb that his bullet had sheared off a tree. To show how appreciative I was of his shooting, I “mounted” the limb over our clubhouse fireplace. He never even thanked me😁!
